<personname>
The <personname> tag marks up a person’s name so PreTeXt can format it
consistently wherever it appears. It is common in
<author> metadata and in <biblio>
entries.
Use <personname> instead of plain text when the name identifies a
person rather than functioning as ordinary prose.
