<mag>

The <mag> tag gives the magnitude of a <quantity>: the numeric or symbolic amount that comes before the units. Use it with <unit> and <per> when a physical quantity has an explicit value.

If a quantity names only a unit, you can omit <mag>. Otherwise, put just the value in <mag> so PreTeXt can format the whole quantity consistently.
